Rye, certified organic.
We’ve grown varieties such as Danko, Hazlet, Spooner, and others. Rye grain is a multi-purpose crop in our operation. It is planted in the Fall, and harvested the following summer. It serves as a winter time cover crop, to cover our fields, and reduce stormwater and erosion. Rye grain can be processed for spirits, and milled as flour, depending on the variety of rye. Different varieties have different characteristics.
Buckwheat
Buckwheat is a warm season crop, grown for it’s seed. Buckwheat is primarily used a food source, which can be milled into flour, or cracked, split, and rolled for different cooking applications.
